My friend Dr. Denis Foley and I toured the Dingle Peninsula near Tralee in southwest Ireland and then drove to Dublin for a week of research on an exhibit featuring the Irish patriot James Connolly. Driving across Ireland, we stopped at the world famous horse breeding farm, the Irish National Stud
in Kildare. What a magnificent place.
In Dublin, Denis spent his days in one of the great libraries and I was free to wander about the city taking pictures and doing sketches of the locations in the exhibit. Then we'd have to find a pub, or a play, or — one of my favorite things on the planet — a great old used book store! Dublin is full of great people and good living and I can't wait to go back.
